TRADUCTOR INVISIBLE O FANTASMA

Abstract

RESUMEN Este Trabajo Fin de Grado demuestra que la sociedad considera a los traductores como fantasmas, más que invisibles, como muchos otros eligen referirse a ellos. El nombre traductor fantasma, en este trabajo, hace referencia al hecho de que los traductores solo son invisibles cuando su público así lo quiere. En general, cuando una persona lee un libro o una película traducida y detecta algún error, casi de inmediato, piensa que el traductor tiene la culpa. Sin embargo, si hay un acierto o algo que llame la atención lo atribuye al autor del original. La historia refleja que la sociedad ha utilizado a los traductores como ha preferido. Sin embargo, también muestra que los traductores tienen un gran poder y que cuando son conscientes de ello saben cómo utilizarlo e influenciar al mundo. Ese es uno de los motivos que fundamentan la importancia de los traductores en la sociedad y la importancia de su visibilidad. ABSTRACT This Final Degree Project demonstrates that society considers translators to be ghosts, rather than invisible, as many others choose to refer to them. The name ghost translator, in this paper, refers to the fact that translators are only invisible when their audience wants them to be. In general, when a person reads a translated book or film and detects a mistake, they almost immediately think that the translator is to blame. However, if there is a good point or something striking, they attribute it to the author of the original. History reflects that society has used translators as they have preferred. However, it also shows that translators have great power and that when they are aware of it, they know how to use it and influence the world. This is one of the reasons for the importance of translators in society and the importance of their visibility.
